In order to purchase a vehicle registered in Spain, you
will need your NIE number, passport and Empadronamiento "padron"
(residency proof from the community) - see "spanish
paperworks".
It is wise to use an official dealer, or purchase from a
private person. Avoid dealers that have their cars
displayed along the road without any office. An official
dealer will give you up to one year guarantee, but always
remember to get it in writing. But no matter if you buy
from a private person or a dealer, always remember to
check that the ITV control has been done, the SUMA is paid,
that the salesman owns the car and that there are not any
liabilities or fines leveled on the vehicle. Remember to
