Originally Benidorm was a
small fishing village located by the cliffs that separate
the long sand beaches of Levante and Poniente.
In the 1960´s the large number of tourist visiting
Benidorm turned it into one of the biggest tourist
attractions in Europe. Today it swarms with life on the
beautiful beaches and promenade, with everything one could
wish in the way of shops, restaurants and cafes. There are
many tall buildings, but there is also a well preserved
"old town" which offers the visitor a chance to wander
down small, charming streets where one can shop or visit a
café.
